What are opportunity notes?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

We\u2019ve launched Opportunity Notes that lets you link notes to both Opportunities and Contacts independently. This gives you more flexibility in how you manage and view your notes in both opportunities and contacts.
\n<\/span>Each opportunity can have their own dedicated notes, separate from contact notes, while still maintaining the flexibility to associate notes with multiple entities when needed.<\/span><\/p>\n

    How do opportunity notes work?\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    Example scenario:<\/em><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0
    John Doe (a contact) has two opportunities for 2 different real estate properties- Property A and Property B. Sara (the Sales Agent & GHL Admin) managing the properties for John Doe wants to create specific notes for each opportunity to keep relevant information tied to each property\u2019s opportunity only.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Here\u2019s how Sara will create opportunity & contact-specific notes.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Step #1:<\/span>\u00a0Under Property A\u2019s Opportunity, Sara navigates to the Notes section, clicks\u00a0<\/span>Add Note<\/span>, and enters the note\u2019s contents.<\/span><\/p>\n

    <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    Step #2:<\/span>\u00a0She selects the associations for the note; in this case, she chooses both the Opportunity (Property A) and the Contact (John Doe).<\/span><\/p>\n

    <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n


    <\/span>Step #3:<\/span>\u00a0She adds another note but selects only the opportunity under associations (omitting the contact John Doe), then clicks\u00a0<\/span>Save<\/span>\u00a0to create an opportunity-only note.<\/span><\/p>\n

    After Step #3:<\/span>\u00a0Sara now has two notes:<\/span><\/p>\n

      One linked only to Property A (opportunity-specific note).<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      One linked to both John Doe and Property A (shared note between opportunity and contact.)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Viewing Property B:<\/span>\u00a0When Sara switches to Property B\u2019s Opportunity, she sees only the shared note (the one linked to John Doe), because the Property A\u2013specific note isn\u2019t associated with Property B.<\/span><\/p>\n

      <\/span>Adding a Note for Property B:<\/span>\u00a0She clicks\u00a0<\/span>Create New Note<\/span>, enters the note, selects both contact associations and then hits save.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Filtering in Contacts:<\/span>\u00a0In the Contacts tab, selecting John Doe and going to\u00a0<\/span>Notes<\/span>, Sara can filter notes by Opportunities or Contacts to view exactly what she needs.<\/span><\/p>\n
